What is Powered by Poo? 💩

Powered by Poo is a new doorstep dog waste collection service, launching imminently in Central Scotland (and beyond). We offer a flexible, subscription-based service with collection frequencies to suit every household - whether weekly, fortnightly or monthly. By creating a separated source of dog waste, we can ensure this is disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way.

Why Powered by Poo? 🌱

Because our mission really is powered by poo. Right now, we’re focused on collecting and disposing of dog waste cleanly and responsibly, but our dream is bigger. One day, we want our entire operation to run on energy generated from the very waste we collect. Imagine your dog’s poo helping to power the van that picks it up. That’s the future we’re aiming for and every bin-full brings us closer.

How does it work? ⚙️

Just bag your dog’s waste as normal, pop it in your provided Powered by Poo caddy, and make sure it’s accessible on collection day. We’ll come by, pick it up, and dispose of it sustainably (Which even generates a little power from the process).

Why should I use Powered by Poo? 🐾

Because it creates more room and less smell in your general waste bin. It’s a hassle-free way to deal with your dog’s poo, reduces pressure on council services, and is better for the environment. No contract, no fuss - just a cleaner, greener solution.

How much does it cost? 💷

We’re finalising prices just now, but costs will be flexible depending on your bin size and how often you want us to collect. There’s no contract, and you can change your plan anytime - it’s all designed to fit around you (and your dog).

Why does it cost? 🤔

We do generate a small amount of energy from dog waste through energy-from-waste (EfW) facilities, but it’s minimal and doesn’t cover the cost of running the service. Your subscription helps pay for the collection, specialist bins, licensed disposal, insurance, and all the work needed to handle dog waste safely and legally. It also supports our goal of doing even more with waste in the future.

How often do you collect? 🗓️

You choose! We offer weekly, fortnightly, or monthly collections - whatever suits your household best.

Why not my household bin? 🚫🗑️

Because dog poo + food wrappers + warm summer bins = a festering nightmare. Mixing dog waste with general rubbish wastes energy and opportunities. We’re set up to do better.

Is it safe? ✅

Yes. We follow all health, safety, and environmental rules (and then some). Waste is double-bagged, collected in sealed containers, and handled using PPE. Everything is tracked and traced, and we’re fully licensed and insured.
